Crop estimation
The crop estimate is a very important management tool for growers, packhouses and exporters to plan the logistics of the harvest and orderly sale of fruit. It allows for better financial planning and risk management as well as efficient planning of orchard activities. NZ Avocado requests a crop estimate from packhouses prior to each season in late March. This is followed by a crop estimate by PPIN in June and again one to two months later. A grower should provide the same crop estimate on the NZ Avocado registration as they have provided their packhouse.
