Nursery information
Avocado Nursery Association
The Avocado Nursery Association (ANA), is the representative group for New Zealand’s avocado nurseries. An Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) exists between NZ Avocado and the ANA to assist in the exchange of information, help manage the release of new cultivars, develop industry standards and ensure members are connected and aware of any issues or requirements of the wider nursery sector. The ANA works to create a unified position on industry compliance and ensure that all growers are able to source a superior standard of tree through the collaborative approach of administering the industry’s High Health Scheme.
Membership to the ANA is open to any nursery commercially propagating and selling avocados. Contact NZ Avocado info@nzavocado.co.nz to find out more.

Avocado High Health Scheme
The New Zealand Avocado Growers Association High Health Scheme (AHHS) has been produced by the NZ Avocado Growers’ Association (NZAGA) with the participation of the NZ Avocado Nurseries Association (NZANA).
The industry scheme sets out minimum physical specifications and ensures trees are true to type and have undergone compulsory disease testing. To be certified under the AHHS, nurseries must complete the Plant Pass avocado module (see link below) and be certified by Plant Pass. Plant Pass is a multisector plant production biosecurity scheme which recognises good biosecurity practice and provides further assurance for plant buyers.
