NZ Avocado is involved in research projects to better understand avocado production in New Zealand.
The industry continues to suffer from very irregular yields across its 1,800 orchards. A benchmarking project has helped to segment orchard performance into “best”, “good” and standard”.
Research is focused on understanding factors that limit production and mitigation strategies growers can use to improve yields and the consistency of their production.
