Field day: Katikati, 1 October 2025

NZ Avocado invites you to join us at the Frank and Coryl Baggenstos’ Rivertide orchard. Rivertide has a 4-year average yield of 17t/ha and has consistently performed well. Frank has been innovating in the pruning and canopy management space for longer than anyone in the industry. Come along to have a look at his latest set up that offers the potential of simple, fast harvesting, protected fruit, good spray coverage and high yields. Emphasis will be put on management to maximise financial returns, maximising fruit set and fruit quality. Wednesday, 1 October 2025 from 1.00pm – 3.00pm at 21b Hayward Rd, Minden.

Other topics discussed on the orchard will include:

• Preliminary results of spray trials to manage mirids
• Fruit quality – Canopy density, harvest guidelines, fertiliser and pathogen management.

We hope to have a collective discussion about how growers are managing their orchards this spring to get the most out of the season ahead.
