Field day: Far North – Houhora

NZ Avocado invites you to join us at a field day in Houhora at Ross Mutton and Lesley Skill’s orchard. The event will be held on Friday 20 November 2020 from 9.30am – 11.30am at 86 Hukatere Rd, Houhora.

The field day will cover the topic of fruit size, and information will be shared about the management practices which have supported good fruit size this season. Irrigation, crop load management and tree health all influence fruit size and the aim of the day will be for growers to compare notes on what has worked and what hasn’t this season. Irrigation is of particular interest so we invite you to share your irrigation management practices, and what your fruit size profile is looking like (good, bad, or otherwise), so we can collectively learn to assist with improving fruit size profiles in future.

NZ Avocado will share industry data and observations from the Bay of Plenty and Mid North for comparison.
