Katikati community meeting

Katch Katikati are an events, promotions and community development organisation for Katikati.

Katch Katikati have been working alongside the Katikati Community Board to increase the visible presence of avocados within the town and establish Katikati as the “Avocado Capital of New Zealand”.

At their November meeting, the Katikati Community Board recommended to Council that it endorse the branding of “Katikati Mural Town – Avocado Capital of New Zealand.” A number of initiatives are planned to help theme Katikati as New Zealand’s avocado capital including a giant avocado in Diggleman Park and avocado seats for the public throughout the town.

Katch Katikati would like to engage with local avocado growers and stakeholders to discuss these ideas and are holding an information and consultation meeting on Monday 13 December. Due to COVID-19 gathering restrictions registration to attend the meeting is essential and numbers to the meeting will be limited to 50. If you would like to attend please register below.
