2019 Bay of Plenty Young Fruit Grower Competition

Bay of Plenty Young Fruit Growers Upskilling Incorporated Society is proud to present the region’s most exciting horticultural event – The 2019 Bay of Plenty Young Fruit Grower Competition. This high-profile competition is open to horticulturalists who are 30 years and under and is entered by some of the industry’s finest young future leaders from the Bay of Plenty.
The competition will take place from 9am to 3pm at the ‘Horticulture Village’ at the Te Puke A&P show and will feature a series of practical and theory activities to test contestants’ skills and abilities in a competitive and fast-paced environment.
NZ Avocado will be involved in the competition and will run topics including:
- Canopy management
- Maintaining and improving tree health
