Culled fruit	Fruit that is removed from the market or the inventory and has no commercial value.
Commodity Levy	Levy paid by Growers’ under the Commodity Levies (Avocados) Order 2013.
Contractor	A person engaged by any person (other than as an employee) to do any work for gain or reward
DAWE	Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment (Australia)
Distressed fruit	Fruit that has been withdrawn from a market or market segment for any reason or is in a poor state
Current season market plan	Volumes by market for the coming season, being Exporters estimates of their volumes, consolidated by NZ Avocado
EMS	Export Marketing Strategy including as addendums the Quality Manual, AvoGreen® Manual and Spray Diary terms and conditions
Export systems fee	A per tray amount payable to NZ Avocado by the Grower to enable delivery of the industry strategy. Grower approval is sought at each AGM for the maximum quantum of this fee. The export systems fee is independent of the Commodity Levy.
Exported	Fruit is deemed to be exported or shipped at the point of loading product on the craft or vessel at the NZ port (air or sea)
Exporter	Any person/entity exporting fresh avocado from New Zealand under a licence (or licence exemption) issued by HEA.
FTA	Free Trade Agreement
GACC	General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China the China border authority or Chinese customs agency.
Grower	A person whose business is, or includes, the growing of avocados in New Zealand, for sale in New Zealand or export, and is a member of NZ Avocado Growers’ Association Inc.

Packer	A packhouse registered with NZ Avocado to pack avocados in New Zealand
