Regional Maturity Monitoring

Hass Avocados


Regional maturity monitoring by NZ Avocado has commenced for the 2016-17 season. The programme monitors the dry matter accumulation in Hass avocados in the three major avocado growing regions of New Zealand to indicate the earliest possible time harvest maturity is reached.

Maturity Monitoring Bay of Plenty

NZ Avocado Maturity Monitoring Comments - Bay of Plenty:

Sample date: 17 October 2016.
Mean regional dry matter: 27.70%
Range: 26.26 % to 29.33%

Maturity clearance for export:   

Blanket Dispensation for the requirement of a Maturity Test for the Bay of Plenty (North) being orchards from Tauranga to Athenree and beyond, and South Auckland, shall apply as from Monday October 24th, 2016.        

Blanket Dispensation for the requirement of a Maturity Test for the Bay of Plenty (South) being orchards from Welcome Bay, Kaimai Range to Te Puke and beyond, , shall apply as from Monday October 31st2016

Blanket Dispensation for the requirement of a Maturity Test for the Far North Region shall apply as from Wednesday October 4th, 2016. The Far North Region covers the territory identified under the Far North District Council for this purpose.
