NZAGA & AIC Annual General Meeting

10:00 AM, 31 August 2017

We invite you to attend the 36th Annual General Meeting of NZ Avocado Growers’ Association Inc. at Toll Stadium, 51 Okara Drive, Whangarei, at 10.00am on Thursday 31 August 2017 (please note the time change from what was published in the July issue of Avoscene). Registration and morning tea from 9.30am. Please register your attendance with Jo Nunn jo.nunn@nzavocado.co.nz.   Members not attending the AGM who wish to vote on motions and remits must appoint a proxy on this form.  Your completed proxy must be received by NZ Avocado by Thursday 24 August 2017.   To help facilitate a timely meeting, we ask that you please advise us by Thursday 17 August 2017 of items of General Business you would like included at the AGM.  This allows us time to ensure we have information prepared that may be relevant to your item.   We look forward to seeing you at the AGM.

Whangarei field day

We invite you to join us at our field day in Whangarei on 1 September. Whangarei field day, 10:00am - 12:00pm, 1 September Venue: Jeni and Grant Harrington’s Orchard, 39 Rocky Height, Maungatapere, Whangarei At this field day will will look at assessing flower intensity, including how and when to remove excessive flower to reduce irregular bearing. We will also look at using soil moisture monitoring to inform irrigation decisions including how volumetric moisture readings can be used to set up a soil moisture balance to better incorporate weather forecasts with irrigation. Far North field day

We invite you to join us at our field day in the Far North on 30 August. Far North field day, 11:00am - 1:00pm, 30 August  Venue: TBC We will discuss practical considerations for irrigation maintenance and performance checks prior to the irrigation season.
